The Council would like to encourage Oceanport residents to use our convenient curbside pick up service. There will be CURBSIDE pick up for glass, cans and plastic, newspapers and corrugated cardboard TWICE a month on the following days as follows:
Do Not place items in plastic or paper bags or in cardboard boxes. For cans, glass and plastic use a separate and durable container. Newspapers should be tied and bundled and put to the curb in that form only. Corrugated cardboard should be flattened, bundled and tied in a form no larger than 36 inches square and put to the curb in that form only. Any container or bundle should never weigh more than 50 lbs. and should be placed at curbside the night before or by 6 am on pick up day.

First and Third Wednesday (all residences west of Myrtle Ave including Blue Point Cove & Gooseneck Point)
Zone 2
First and Third Thursday (all residences east of Myrtle Ave except Blue Point Cove and Gooseneck Point)

CANS
Recyclable – Aluminum, tin and bi-metal cans used for food and beverages. Tin and bi-metal cans may be placed in the same container with aluminum cans. Cans must be rinsed and may be left whole or flattened.
NOT Recyclable - cans used for any purpose other then food; foil, window and screen frames, lawn chair frames, prepared food containers, aerosol cans.
Do Not put cans in plastic or paper bags or in cardboard boxes. Use a separate and durable container and place at curbside on pick up day OR drop in specially marked bin at the drop off site.
GLASS
Recyclable - Bottles and jars used for food and beverages. All Colors. Glass must be rinsed. Discard lids in trash
NOT Recyclable - Plate (window) glass, opaque glass, blue glass, china, light bulbs and ceramics.
PLASTIC
Recyclable - All plastic containers which held an edible or non-edible LIQUID.
NOT Recyclable - All plastic ketchup containers or containers over one gallon in size.
NEWSPAPER
Recyclable - Everything that comes with the newspaper can go in. Newspapers will not be accepted in brown paper or plastic bags and should be tied with string.
CORRUGATED CARDBOARD
Recyclable - Heavy cardboard typically used for shipping – usually has 2 layers with a “waffle” layer in between.
Boxes should be flattened and tied.
JUNK MAIL / MIXED PAPER/CHIPBOARD
Recyclable - Magazines, Junk Mail, Office Paper, School papers, Chipboard, Shredded Paper, Telephone Books, Soft and Hardcover Books (remove covers), Envelopes, Construction Paper, Computer Paper
NOT Recyclable - tissue paper, toilet paper, paper with food on it (i.e. pizza boxes)
What is chipboard? Chipboard is similar to a very thin cardboard. It comes in different forms; like cereal boxes, shoe boxes, gift boxes, macaroni boxes, toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls and wrapping paper rolls.
